No Drones at athletic events any time soon - WIAA has addressed the discussion of drones at athletic events with our insurance carriers. Drones are NOT covered under the general liability (GL) policies for the WIAA. The insurance carrier has advised us against the use of drones until further notice. WIAA is looking into the possibility of getting insurance coverage, but at this point it's a clear "no '' at this time.
Harrah Campus - Principal Widener reports that 5th Grade Band Instrument testing will become an annual process each Spring to collect information of the new & incoming beginning band students. Next year, band classes will only be offered to 6th Grade Students and Instrument testing is like a "petting zoo" for band instruments. Teacher Moore has collected Google Forms from all 5th Grade Students that asks if they want to join band and what instrument they would like to play. On May 10th from 12:00-1:00pm, Teacher Moore and Ted Brown Music will have 5th Graders come to the Band Room to test for Beginning Band with Instruments including flute, clarinet, trumpet & trombone. If still interested, students will take home a flier with information for their families to fill out and return with a signature. Once Teacher Moore has the confirmation of students who want to be in band, they will know who wants to play what instrument, how they can best get instruments to families, and have a roster for the beginning of the year registration for classes.

Sixth-Grade Art Projects – Sixth-grade students participated in place-based indigenous arts infused learning with Native teaching artists and cultural educators last week. One group weaved a cedar morningstar, while the other group played tribal games. This is another example of cultural-based learning activities that research shows makes a significant difference in the learning achievement of students.
