The Third week of School - This week was our first full week of school without excess heat or smoke. Students and staff seem to be getting their stride. The main concern is that students keep attendance strong and remember how important it is to come to school every day.
Ball fields at Harrah – The ball fields are on schedule to have the sod laid and water on before it gets too cold in order for the roots to set. We have increased the project and will place a low retaining wall for a short distance on the south side of the field to protect the integrity of the road that we share with our southern neighbor. There is an impressive amount of chain link fence and the fields will sure be nice for our Mount Adams Middle School Students.

Balanced Calendar – The big news of the week is that the state has discontinued the Balanced Calendar funding, effective immediately. That is so sad for our students who were going to have the opportunity to learn on field trips and other learning opportunities during October and February breaks. That said, we have canceled all of our events during the fall and winter breaks because we have no additional funds to pay for staff or transportation. We will keep the same calendar breaks for the year, and we will need to discuss if we will keep the breaks in the future or return to a more traditional calendar
