Re-Thinking Grading
The principals and teams from each building attended a workshop in Seattle called Grading Inside Out. This workshop helped the teams look at district grading practices. The proposed goal across the district will be to implement standards-based grading at a high level. Principal Tenney reports, “In the conference we were challenged to rethink grading practices, homework practices and accountability practices. Our teams will return to the buildings to present and work in Professional Learning Teams to help refine our grading practices district wide.”

“This Porridge is just right!”
The Pre-K students learned about the parts of a story! They learned about characters, the setting, problems, lessons and about narrators! The students took turns acting out “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. Can you tell which of these students is Goldilocks and which one is the Papa Bear? Before acting the play, they analyzed the narrative together with Mrs. Dollente and told her all the pieces of the story! The students had so much fun during the play and helped each other during narration!
The Future is Bright
Some of our 6th & 7th grade GEAR UP students had lots of fun visiting Columbia Basin College this week.
