The Business Office is responsible for the preparation and monitoring of the school district's budget, financial statements, enrollment reports/projections, and other related financial reports. The Department is made up of Accounting, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.  Department staff allocate funds based on needs, pay the bills, invest the money, run payroll, and direct the budgeting, accounting, and purchasing operations of the district.
 

Overall, the Business Office is in charge of establishing and monitoring procedures and policies to ensure the district has, and follows, a sound fiscal plan.  The department is also responsible for workers' compensation and risk management.
 


Manager of Accounts and Budget

The Manager of Accounts and Budget plays a key role in overseeing the financial planning and budgeting processes for the Mount Adams School District. This position is responsible for creating and monitoring budgets, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with state and district policies. By forecasting financial needs and providing strategic insights, the Manager of Accounts and Budget supports the district’s goals and ensures fiscal responsibility. This role is pivotal in maintaining the district’s financial health and ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet educational priorities.


Payroll Department

The Payroll Manager ensures the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation for the Mount Adams School District. This role involves managing payroll operations, including salary distribution, tax and benefit deductions, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Manager works closely with HR to address employee inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date payroll records. Their goal is to ensure that all district employees are compensated accurately and efficiently, contributing to the smooth operation of the district’s workforce.


Accounts Payable

The Manager of Accounts Payable oversees the payment processes for all district expenditures, ensuring that vendors, suppliers, and service providers are paid accurately and on time. This role includes verifying invoices, managing payment schedules, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with Mount Adams School District policies. The Manager of Accounts Payable plays an essential role in maintaining strong relationships with vendors, monitoring cash flow, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Their work ensures that the district's financial obligations are met promptly and efficiently.
