Our History

The Mount Adams School District has a rich history that reflects the unique tapestry of the region. Established to serve students in a rural, agricultural area, the district has grown alongside the communities it supports. Our schools are deeply connected to the Yakama Nation, whose ancestral lands we are privileged to inhabit. This connection shapes the identity of the district, fostering a commitment to honoring the history, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. The Yakama Nation has been an integral part of the land for centuries, and we remain dedicated to building meaningful partnerships with the Nation's leadership, families, and students. Through collaboration, we strive to create a learning environment that reflects the values of respect, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
